Project Introduction
ThermoBatt emerges as a groundbreaking initiative in the realm of battery health analysis, pivoting the focus towards an often underappreciated yet vital aspect: temperature. Unlike conventional methodologies that primarily concentrate on voltage and current metrics, ThermoBatt introduces an innovative lens to examine how temperature dynamics play a crucial role in battery performance and longevity. Our project leverages technology to develop two models: one for predicting battery State of Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) based on temperature-related data, and the other for real-time visualization of temperature distribution within batteries.
Why Temperature?
Temperature is a key yet frequently overlooked determinant of battery health. Excessive heat or cold can significantly impact battery efficiency, charge capacity, and overall lifespan. However, standard battery health assessments often neglect this parameter. ThermoBatt addresses this gap by highlighting the implications of temperature fluctuations and heat distribution. Our focus is on how ambient temperature, operational heat, and internal temperature variations correlate with battery wear and efficiency. Understanding these relationships is critical for enhancing battery maintenance strategies and designing more robust battery systems.
Our Goals
ThermoBatt aims to revolutionize the approach towards battery health diagnostics and prognostics. Our goals include:
